About Me
Hello, and welcome to my webpage! My name is Alex. I enjoy horseback riding and photography. I also love acting. My family is great; they are very supportive of my riding and are always patient when I make them stop the car so I can take a picture of something. I will never try to be someone else. I can be a bit crazy sometimes, but I do not care what other people think, and I will always be true to myself. I am willing to defend my friends, family, and what is right.
Horses

I am an avid horseback rider and currently own two horses. I go to many horseshows all around California. My dream is to become one of the best jumper riders in the world and go to the Olympics. When I watch the Olympics, I am always amazed how high the horses jump; it is almost like they are flying.
Acting
I absolutely love to act. I want to be in a movie some day. Last year in the school play, I was the Wicked Witch of the West in "The Wizard of Oz." This year, I am Belle in "Beauty and the Beast."
Photography

I love to take pictures with my camera. I mostly take pictures of nature and sometimes my friends riding their horses. I take my camera with me almost everywhere I go. Photography is a way to preserve everything I see. Photography is one of my favorite things.
Books
I love to read because it helps me forget my troubles. Some of my current favorite books are East by Edith Pattou, Distant Waves by Suzanne Weyn, The Alchemyst: the Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series by Michael Scott,(I have read the first three books and am waiting for the fourth to come out) Song of the Sparrow by Lisa Ann Sandell, and The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart.
Movies
Much of my time at home is spent watching my favorite movies. My favorite movies include "Get Smart," "Up," "Mama Mia," "Gremlins," "The Dark Knight," "The Wizard of Oz," "Cheaper By the Dozen 2," "National Velvet," and "Marley and Me." I never get tired of watching my favorite movies again and again.
Plays

Currently, my favorite play is "Wicked." I love the story and how it is the opposite of "The Wizard of Oz."
Places
Kennebunkport, Maine

Kennebunkport, Maine is one of my favorite places. Most people have never heard of it because it is such a small town. I think that is why I love it. My family and I used to go there every summer until we moved. I love all of the beaches, forests, lakes, mountains, and wildlife. When I was little, my favorite place to go to was the candy store by the wharf. We used to swim in the ocean, hike in the forest, and look for shells on the beach. Overall, I think that Kennebunk port is one of the best vacation places.
Palm Beach, Florida

I love Palm Beach. It is one of my favorite places to go. I used to live there, but other than that I like the beaches, palm trees, and shops.
Pebble Beach, California

In my opinion, Pebble Beach is one of the most beautiful places on the Monterey Penninsula. There are rocky beaches on green golf courses.
Carmel Valley, California

I love Carmel Valley. It has rolling hills, tall mountains, and it is never crowded at all.
Yosemite National Park, California.

Yosemite is spectacular. There are forests, rivers, lakes, waterfalls, cliffs, and mountains. This is a picture I took of Tunnel View. Tunnel View includes Bridal Veil Falls, El Capitan, and Half Dome.
My Mandala

The wind blows wildly across the purple field, and it never stops moving. A small bird takes off from the shelter of the willow tree, and the sweet and calming smell of lavender fills the mid afternoon air. A gray horse with a wild mane neighs when it gallops toward the purple horizon. When the sky begins to darken, they start off towards home. They return to their families and the shelter of the willow tree where they will be safe for the night.
My mandala expresses who I am. It shows my interests and what I love. This mandala is free form because I am not very organized. I do not like my belonging in sections. The willow tree represents protection and home because I love being with my family. A willow is very protecting and safe, and I always feel comforted when I’m with my relatives. Curiosity and business is represented by the small chickadee. I like being busy and do not like not having something to do. Every day I am curious; I always like to learn new things. The gray horse with the wild mane represents both craziness and calmness. At times I can be calm, and others I am crazy and silly. Peace and purity is represented by lavender. I am pure because I am true to myself and what I believe in. I would never lie to myself. Peace shows that I do not like to fight. When my friends are fighting, I want to resolve it. The wind symbolizes wildness. Wind can be calm and wild; it never stops moving. My mandala expresses who I am. It shows my interests and what I love.
